I am extremely sorry if I come across as a cynic - but is the anger shown across the country over corruption real?
Or is it a result of a generation being completely bored of regular entertainment on the MTv and Bindaas and now the attention is shifted to the news channels? Looks like the current Emotional Atyachaar is more entertaining (somebody should ask our catatonic PM).
Something similar (on the feelings and anger front) happend when "Rang de basanti" was released in multiplexes. Whoever came out of the theater, was quite angry and wanted to bring a revolution in the country as some on-screen characters were killed in cold blood by the corrupts of this country.
But by the time they reached home, the anger had given way to the depression and ultimately to the indifference - "people who are most affected do not really care, why should l? Sweet dreams!"Did you hear this - the guy after protesting against the corruption, while returning back home (sweet home), bribed the cop as he'd jumped the signal and the cop was in no mood to give the receipt for the penalty?
A nation in a hurry to grow, go ahead.... who has the time to think what is right and do the right thing. Or is it cultural?
