Honeywell is looking into the fire accident with a 787 at Heathrow airport. It seems the emergency transmitter locater, made by Honeywell was the reason.
Going back to another incident of fire last year with the new eco-friendly refrigerant HFO-1234yf. This refrigerant is made by Honeywell & Dupont and together these comapnies have about 100 patents worldwide.
Daimler refueses to use the refrigerant in their cars and has recalled 1300 cars filled with the same when one of the saftey engineers discoverd that the refrigerant is quite flammable during one of the standard tests. While other Europian OEMs agree with Daimler's finding, General Motors (GM) feels the coolant is safe and is going ahead with its usage.
